We've had two showings of the house so far and several appointments made. We were scheduled to have one today from 1pm-3pm. They called this morning around 8:45am to cancel that appointment. It really wasn't a big deal because we are just keeping the house show ready!!!
I was actually REALLY relieved that it was cancelled when I went to the living room to discover that Joseph had used my living room as his canvas with a permanent marker. YIKES! There were circles drawn all over our laminate floor, the couch, and the wall.
I was able to clean the floor without a problem.
The couch. Well, that's why we bought microfiber suede couches. A little warm water and soap on a washrag did a pretty good job. You can still see a few lines. Unless you are searching for it, you can't see them.
And, the wall. Um! That's why you keep extra paint in your garage.
In the meantime, they called to schedule another showing for 12:30pm. When David got home from the gym I said "Get in here. They are coming in 2 hours and we need to get to work!" By that time I had done the floor and the couch and had done a little touch up paint, but he got to work with the paint and erased all evidence of my son's craziness!!!!!
Boy do I love that little boy! It's a good thing too.
On a sidenote: The young lady who looked at the house (our first showing) on Sunday said it is one of her top choices. The realtor said they are hoping to see it again sometime this week. She said maybe tomorrow, weather permitting! We'll see. It's exciting, but a little nerve wracking. And, no we have not started looking at houses yet. Mom and Dad have agreed to house us until we find the right house if need be. I hope we don't have to do that for long though. I don't really want to move twice. Please just be praying that the timing is perfect and that we can see God's hand in every moment of this journey!!!

while we only had to go through one side of the house process, even from that it i know it is quite an adventure! hope it all goes smoothly and you find the perfect place to make more family memories.
Oh my goodness!!!! I'm glad you were able to get it cleaned up and ready to show!!
That is WONDERFUL! I hope all goes as God plans for you - it is very exciting - let me know what we can do to help you in any way!
Aren't kids helpful? If that happens again, those Magic Erasers are really great at getting out permanent marker. Katie took one to our kitchen counter one time and it came out great. You might even give it a try on your couch!
PS - Congrats on the good luck with the house so far!
nerve wracking! good luck!!!
um, the house just 45 seconds from my house is still for sale! **"won't you be my neighbor???"** :o)
Fun and exciting times! I can't believe that about the marker! I keep hearing these stories, but so far haven't experienced it! :)
I'm praying that everything works out for you guys! (I'm delivering at Arlington Memorial.)
You have a beautiful family! Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
We did the "house on the market" thing for 2 years (a 6-8 kids at the time)- UGH! lol! Praying it sells quickly for you with no more marker incidents! lol!
