Joseph's Birthday

Joseph turned two last Thursday, December 11th. It's still hard for me to believe that he's two! He is so sweet. It looks like he just might be a class clown some day. He'll do anything to get people to laugh at him.

We went to the doctor Friday and he weighed 33 lbs (went down to the 93%) and was 37 1/4 in (jumped off the chart). I can't write all of the words he's saying now because there are too many and he's finally making 2-3 word sentences.

For his birthday we planned for David's parents, his sister's family, his grandmother, and my parents all to eat out with us and then go back to our house for presents and birthday cookies. Dinner didn't work out so great. David's family all were running late so it ended up just being us and my parents, but it was fun! We went to a place called Ton's Mongolian Grill. It is one of our favorite places to eat and Joseph LOVES the food!!! We've been trying to find a time to take David's family there so I was kind of disappointed, but maybe we'll be able to do it again soon. We don't go there very often, but the people remember us!!! They all love the kids so much. There's one waitress in particular who caters to our kids! It is such a family friendly place!!!

We were all able to meet up at our house and watch Joseph open his presents. It was so fun this year. He really got into it and all of his gifts were just perfect for him. If you can't tell by what he got, some of his most favorite things now are trains and Elmo! Oh, he also loves tools. He's just getting into Barney. I'll quit writing now and let you enjoy some pictures!!!I got rave reviews on the cookie idea. I had worked the night before so there was no way I was going to be able to wake up in time to bake and decorate a whole cake. The cookie dough was a little too soft so the cookies didn't end up looking like trains and stars, but they sure tasted good! I think we'll have to talk about doing cookies for all of the birthday parties. I've never had as much cake eaten as I did cookies!!! And, everyone said they liked this better. We put the candles in and sang to him. He LOVES to sing so he sang along with us. After he blew out the candles he started saying "Gin, gin!" (Again, again). So we lit the candles one more time and sang one more time. He would've done that all night if we had let him.
