No More Waiting!

The final word is.... PARASITE. That's right I have a parasite. Apparently I have been infected with Giardia. The only thing we can conclude is that I got it the last day we were at a water park that we had season passes to. That was SEPTEMBER 1st. Yes, I have probably been dealing with this that long.

I am having a really hard time waking up completely from the drugs. So, this is brief. I will start taking Flagyl in the morning. The Gastroenterologist wants me to rest tonight and eat light and then start taking the medicine in the morning with a big breakfast. I can't wait to have an appetite and be able to keep things down. It makes me cry just feeling the relief of knowing what it is and that we can control it and it should be over soon!

Thank you for all of your prayers and thoughts. I can't tell you how comforted I felt this morning!!! I love you all.

Oh GOOD NEWS!!! Funny story about Giardia - Some friends of ours did a missions trip in Ethiopia. The wife told us she had gotten Giardia while she was there & could use some prayers. Mark passed this along to several people before someone finally asked him "Really? Gonarrhea? Missionaries you said?" Boy was he embarassed!

wow! I'm glad you have answers and some good antibiotics. When we were in TX this summer, I saw giardia all over the news from water parks there...that's not good. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi. I'm Holly. You left a comment on my blog a while back and I check in with you every once in a while, thanks to Suzanne's blog =) I was praying for you too. I am tahnkful for the answer! Funny thing, we had a puppy that had that. Is it contagious (sp?) to the boys?

Didn't your mom ever tell you not to drink the water at the water parks?!? Glad to hear that's all it is. I'll be looking forward to more posts once you're feeling better.

Yea! Doesn't it feel good to just have an answer?! I was diagnosed with mild chronic transverse ulcerative colitis. Anyways - glad everything went well!
