He DOES Get It!!!

Do you ever have moments where your children do something or say something and you say to yourself "They do get it?" Like when you are mirroring and teaching them a Christ-filled life. There are times when my kids act like crazy people and do things that I am amazed they even have the nerve to do. It is at these times when I feel like all of our work is in vain. However, there are moments when they show us that our teaching is actually sinking in to some degree. They are getting it!!!

Wade loves to do crafty things. He made a paper person the other day. He came in and showed it to me. I was doing laundry so I said "Oh that's cool." Not really paying much attention (I know, bad mother). Later, I noticed it was on the refrigerator and when I looked closely, I saw there was writing on it. Let me show you with some pictures:

I know you can't read this, but this is the whole thing.

The top says: Praying Person Ledbetter Family

(There is a prayer for us to pray everyday. He only did 6 days because he wasn't sure what to do for the 7th day.)

Day 1: Keep us healthy.

Day 2: Being kind to one another.

Day 3: Helping us focus on you.

Day 4: Let us be happy in you.

Day 5: Giving us the strength to work for you.

Day 6: Letting us put on our armor.

(We talked about the armor of Christ at camp this year.)

This is pretty deep for an 8 year old. Or, at least, I think so. I love this boy!

wow, what a powerful reminder to love Christ like a child, "for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Wow! I'm proud of him. Doesn't that just make you feel awful when you realized you just brushed that one aside? I'm sooooooooo guilty of that sooooooooo often! I guess we're all lucky that God is a perfect parent - because I know I'm not!

That is so great! I could use a reminder to pray more like that. You guys are doing a great job raising your boys to be Christ-like.
