A couple of week's ago Wade had to have his first cavity filled. I was a little nervous about how Wade would act during this procedure. Of course his Opa (My Dad) was doing it for him. He was so incredibly brave!!! Oma (My Mom) assisted Dad while he worked on Wade's teeth. I told him he had to be one of the luckiest kids in the world because not many kids get to have both of their Grandparents working on their teeth. He always thinks it's cool that his Opa is his Dentist. We got the cavity filled without any big deal. In fact, Wade stood up from the chair and said "That was fun!" He said he didn't even feel the numbing injection at all. I reminded him that it was because his Opa is the BEST!!! He agreed. We did, however, decide that it is time for him to see an orthodontist. Wade and I went to Dr. Ellis (the orthodontist that has taken care of me since I was 4 1/2 years old). My poor Wade has inherited my horrible teeth, but not really to the degree that mine were. We will begin the orthodontics process on September 18th. He will have a palate expander (which I'm most concerned about). I had one, and did not like it. He will also get his first set of braces. This is going to be a two phase process, but he's excited to get it started. I'll have to take a close up pic of his teeth so you can see just how messed up they are. Sorry for the fuzzy pics. Something is wrong with my camera, AGAIN!!!

After Opa and Oma worked on his teeth, we went with Oma to the park. We had so much fun!!!
Wade and Oma thought it would be funny to act like she was hitting him in the mouth since it was numb. He said he wouldn't feel anything. Goofballs!!!

I'm glad that Wade wasn't sore from the visit. I need to go see your dad to get my first cavities filled. He found them about 1 1/2 years ago, but I haven't been in to get them taken care of. I figure at this point, it's a toss up on which is worse: rotting teeth, or getting in trouble with your dad!
Hey - I was just in that same chair yesterday getting MY first cavity taken care of - only I waited WAY TOO long and had to have a root canal! I don't recommend putting the dentist on the back burner!

Our kids have the coolest Oma and Opa ever!!
