After lunch I put Joseph to sleep for his nap. Then, the other kids rested in the living room and watched a movie.

Everything was going well and the kids were being very quiet until this showed up at our front door.

When I discovered her at our front door I picked her up and her little body was burning up. I brought her in and gave her water. I put her in our dog's kennel in the house so that she could rest and cool off. I was going to wait until someone posted signs for her because I don't trust people. I thought about taking her door to door to see if she would be claimed, but I was afraid the wrong person would claim her. When we were out later that evening we saw a sign describing her so I called the number and we returned her to her owner. Funny thing is, he said he just paid a whole lot of money for her, but she had a collar without any tags. Lesson: If you pay a lot of money for a dog, make sure it has tags on it!!! You better believe my kids and the Nations kids had named that sweet puppy. They were all hoping we wouldn't find the owner.
I don't have pictures, but after nap time Jenny and I took the kids to the Water Park. We played all afternoon. David and Tim later met us there with a yummy dinner from McDonald's. We had a blast!!!
To end our really exciting day, David went down the waterslide at the water park. The little boy who had just gone down the slide did not move out of the way so he and David collided. David's foot hit his leg. I'm pretty sure it's broken. See the pictures below. Then, Cloe took a drink from her McDonald's cup which had a little honey bee hiding in the straw. She sucked that little honey bee up into her mouth and then spit him out. She ran over to Jenny and me and said "I just ate a bee. I just ate a bee!!!" The stinger was still in the roof of her mouth. They took her to the First Aid station, but it was a bunch of teenagers who said they weren't sure what to do when it was in the mouth. They tried scraping it out with a straw (you are supposed to scrape them out of the skin rather than pulling it out because it releases less poison that way). They were unable to remove it, so Jenny said "I'm with a nurse. Let me go get her and see if she can get it." She came and got me. I went in there and told Cloe that the longer it stayed, the worse it would feel. She let me try and I was able to pull it out. Crazy stuff!!!

What a fun filled day! I love your dining table! Poor David's foot. I'm always SO afraid I'm going to "drink" a bee or sit on one (I'm allergic)!!!
What an adventure!
oh my gosh! like straight out of a movie!!! good, bad, & ugly (sorry David... but that toe is gross!)
I totally agree that the toe is nasty. Sorry dw! I hate it when people don't move out of the way on slides! Juli Beth, you have such a way with children! You're so good at helping them feel better! The toe thing and the bee sting aside, it sounds like you had a great day. I've never been stung by a bee (or anything else like that) so I'm always worried I'll "swallow" a bee or something unusual like that. I have a friend that got stung by a wasp because he ran into it on accident! Craziness!
Oh, and your boys have grown so much! Its been awhile since you posted pictures of them so I didn't know that was Joseph at first! And I can't beleive how big Wade and Lafe are getting! Wade looks like he's all legs.
That is one eventful day!
