Lafe and I just had a great little conversation that really got me tickled. It really shows not just how he thinks, but how little boys work. I imagine we had many talks like this with Wade but that was before blogging was all the rage (sorry Wade). Anyways, here's how it went:
L: Daddy, um, why did you put the cocoon in this bag? (see previous posts about the caterpillar, cocoon, and butterfly)
D: I don't know Lafe, I thought it got thrown away.
L: So why is it in the bag?
D: Lafe, I don't know. Maybe mommy did it so you guys could take it to the Nature Exchange.
L: Daddy, what's the Nature Exchange?
D: It's the place at the Dallas Zoo where you can take things you find in nature- like snake skins, pretty shells, cocoons- and trade them for other things from nature like snake skins, pretty shells, stuff like that you know.
L: Or we could trade it for a (dramatic pause) skunk?
D: What?
L: Yeah, I want a skunk.
D: That wouldn't be a good pet.
L: Yeah, I want a skunk because I want to be stinky!
I think there are other ways for little boys to be stinky- our three do a pretty good job on their own.
(And for all of you aunts, cousins, grandparents, etc who are reading this and think to yourself, Lafe's birthday is coming up, I wonder if I can get a good deal on a skunk on eBay...well, I have one word for you- paybacks!!)

ewww.... LOL!
No worries from this aunt! You've seen my four in action recently. I can't afford paybacks!
Love you guys!

This has nothing to do with a SKUNK, but I was wondering if you used the SWADDLE blankets (by Kiddopatamous?) when you swaddled your kiddos. I don't have your home e-mail so I am posting a comment to ask......
Thanks,
Hannah
