Update
I just got back from visiting Bailey in the hospital. She is in good spirits and is coming to terms with all of this. There has been a lot of education thrown at her and her parents, but they are getting it. Bailey said that the worst part is the poking her fingers to check her blood sugar. She said the insulin injections are not bad at all. She will be checking her sugars four times a day right now. They have given her treatment information for how many carbs to eat at each meal time and snacks. Kari Ann and Patrick have had to check their own blood sugars and poke themselves with the needles so that they will know what Bailey is feeling when she has to do this for herself. She even stuck Oma and her Uncle Dub (my David) today. They also have taken turns actually drawing up her insulin and giving it to her so that they will all know how to do it. There is still more couseling to be done, but they are expecting to go home tomorrow. Bailey is a mature and very smart young lady. I have no doubt that this will be something she will be in control of very soon and she will be a pro at it. I told her that a month from now she'll be thinking it's no big deal. It will just be routine. Now I'm praising God for the diabetic child I had at school this past year. I learned a lot about Juvenile Diabetes and the different options and equipment that are available. Treating blood sugars whether high or low is VERY different with neonates so I'm thankful for this past year's experience. Thank you to those of you who have been praying (apparently, I only have two readers left), but thank you to you two who have been praying and keeping our family in your thoughts. It has been comforting. Bailey and her family read this blog and they said they noticed I had put something on here. So, if you have anything to say to them, you can put it in the comment section. I promise they'll be reading.

Thanks, Juli Beth, for the update. I've been thinking/praying for them a lot today.
We love you, Cannons!
And, Bailey, if you can be the oldest of ALL those cousins, then I know you're tough, girl! You can do it!
First of all, I am in denial that Bailey is TWELVE!! I still remember her as a toddler when we were in high school!
I've been praying for Bailey and KA and Patrick, and everyone in your family. Bailey is so blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love her. Thanks for the update, and I am glad to hear that she is doing well and already getting into the swing of things.
(and I bet you have more than 2 readers. :) Oh, and I will call you...we are driving up tomorrow so maybe we can get together Friday night since you are busy Saturday.
Cannon family, I knew all along that you'd pull through just fine! You're all tough and alot stronger than you realize. I'm glad to here that it's all going smoothly though. Bailey, you will get used to it before too much longer and soon won't even think twice about it all. My prayers will continue to be with all of you though. I love y'all so much!
And, Juli Beth, please continue to keep us updated on any new developments. You also probably have way more readers than you realize. The thing to remember is that not all of them will leave you comments, but that doesn't mean they're not reading your posts. I, for one, check your blog almost everyday. I love you!
we will be praying and please keep us updated for sure.
I am a big FAN of your blog too! Please know that Bailey is in our thoughts and prayers!

I am just catching up on your blog after a week in Mexico. I am praying for Bailey and am so glad that she is stabilizing. That diagnosis is a lot for a young girl to deal with, but praise God, he has ensured that none of us ever have to face trials alone!
Just wanted to let you know that Bailey and the Cannons are in our prayers and will continue to be in our prayers! -Julie (Walker) Webb
I'm with Megan...I can't believe that Bailey is 12!!! I'm so glad that they have things under control. We'll be praying for the whole Cannon family.
