A couple of weeks ago we were walking through the garage and we saw a huge, beautiful moth on the garage floor. It was kind of flopping around. So, we thought that he had gotten injured and we just left him alone. Several days later I started thinking about it, and we decided to look at the chrysalis. Sure enough, there was a hole in the top of it. The moth that was flopping around on our garage floor was our caterpillar!!!!!!! The boys were ecstatic. It was one of the coolest things to think about getting to watch that whole process. We didn't want to put him outside because we were afraid that a bird or another animal would get him. He ended up dying. Wade plans to take him to the Dallas Zoo where my Mom has a membership. The kids place there has a nature exchange. You can bring things in from nature and get points to "buy" other things in the nature exchange. It's so fun!
Here are some pictures we took of the moth:

holy cow! That thing is huge! But what a cool thing for your boys to see!
That is beautiful! We had the same experience last year with a moth about that size. We had long since decided that it was dead before it scared me to death one day when I heard it coming out. Fun!
