Cousins or Half-Sisters

I just read on someone else's blog (Tiffany's) that identical twins have the same DNA. My Dad is an identical twin. She mentioned on her blog that since her dad (who is also a twin) and his brother have the same DNA her cousins are technically her half-brother and half-sister.

So, tell me are my three cousins Dana, Jill, and Mary Ann really my cousins or my half-sisters???????????? What do you all think???

Isn't that so funny! I googled it and its true, well, as true as googling goes! ha! They share the same dna, but they have different fingerprints...so, one could commit a crime, and blame it on the other, take a strand of hair or blood, and it would look the same, but by checking the fingerprints they would be able to tell who actually did it. Interesting isn't it! Not that either your dad or uncle , or my dad or uncle would ever do this, but thats just my example of how it works! Glad we both have half-siblings now!

If you have different fingerprints...you have to have different DNA! EVERYTHING would have to be identical to have the same DNA...right?!? I'd look at several sources before I believe that.

Mary Ann and I use to joke about it and call each other our half-sister. :) Makes sense, because we look and act so much alike!

On Law & Order they confused a twin murderer with his brother because of their matching DNA. I'm sure that television isn't the best source, but surely they wouldn't fake anything for ratings... ;) I like to think you're my half sister, Juli. - M
