D- Dinner Conversations

***we are going to steal this idea from Dana and Mike. D- means I (David) am writing and obviously JB- means Juli Beth is writing.

Disclaimer- what you are about to read is the content of our dinner conversations from last night. Don't worry- I know JB already grossed you out earlier this week. This is just funny off the wall stuff that happens on a regular basis; it's just we rarely write about this stuff.

"Foot phone"

(Setting: all of us are sitting around the table eating our Panda Express when Lafe chimes in.)

Lafe: "jingle jingle jingle."

At this point JB and I look at each other wondering what he is doing.

Lafe: "jingle jingle jingle. That is my foot phone."

David and JB: "what?"

Now Lafe proceeds to- at the dinner table- lift his leg above the table and put his foot up to his mouth. "This is Lafe. blah blah doddy doddy blah blee."

That was the end of that phone conversation since at that point none of us could breathe we were laughing so hard.

"I'm leaving"

Setting: a few minutes after our dinner was interrupted by the foot phone ringing- dadgum those telemarketers! Everything was seemingly going well when Wade abruptly gets up from the table.

Wade: (as he is walking towards his bedroom) "I'm leaving."

JB and David: (in a joking voice- of course) "Do you want us to help you pack? Take a jacket. You might want some peanut butter crackers to take or something to eat!"

Wade: (from his bedroom) "Do we have some tape?"

JB: "In here on the counter."

Now Wade runs in, grabs the tape and is gone again back to his room. We don't hear from him or see him again until we see this:

That crazy kid. The funniest part to me- he wasn't even mad, he was just being silly. Note that there is NOTHING in the rag TAPED to the end of the broken yard stick. And where is his jacket? Probably in his room so it won't get lost I'm sure!

Don't worry, he didn't really run away. I am sure you were all waiting in breathless anticipation to see if he bolted or not. These boys are so wonderful! I can't wait until all three of them are giving us a hard time- shouldn't be too long.

I hope you all had a safe New Year's celebration whatever you were doing, wherever you were. May our God of grace and peace bless you with a wonderful new year!
