Eight Years!

David and I just celebrated our 8th anniversary on July 3rd. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long. I am blessed to have him for my husband. These last few months have been very busy and stressful for us. We decided to get away from the house for our anniversary date. We just had the 3rd and 4th off so we stayed in a hotel in Fort Worth. It was the first night that we have spent away from Joseph. Wade was spending a few days in Abilene with Dava Lynn's family so Lafe and Joseph stayed the night with David's parents.

We started our day off with some shopping while Lafe and Joseph played with Aunt Sharron (Berry). They had lots of fun at her house. We went and picked them up to take them home for nap time. After nap time we packed up our stuff and headed to Burleson to Gran and Papa's house. After dropping them off at G&P's house we got stuck in some yucky traffic trying to make it to Fort Worth. Those of you with small children at home will understand that this was not a stressful thing at all because we took full advantage of the extra time to visit without any interruptions. We checked into the hotel and then we ate dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse. It was a fabulous meal!!! We also enjoyed just sitting there talking to each other again not worrying about needing to be anywhere at any certain time. We thought about hanging out in Downtown FW or seeing a movie, but we decided that our alone time with nothing else to distract us from each other was so great that we just headed back to the hotel where we enjoyed the hot tub and then spent time together without the distractions of home and family! It was great and I can't wait for another time when we can do this again.
