Graduation & New Job

I know that it's been a long time since my last post. I haven't felt very motivated lately to write anything.

I graduated last weekend!!! I am soooooo happy to be finished with school. Graduation was really nice. On Friday, my parents traveled to Lubbock with us. Friday night we had my pinning ceremony and induction into the Honor Society. It was a nice ceremony, but it took forever!!! Late Friday night, David's parents joined us at the hotel.

Saturday morning we had the actual graduation. It was really nice. The speakers were great and it was good to feel supported by my family. This whole school thing has been very hard on my family and my marriage. I am so glad to be done and be able to more easily focus my attention where it is supposed to be. I would appreciate any prayers that are lifted for me and my family!

In other news, I have a new job. I will be the school nurse at Miller Elementary starting in August. I am excited and nervous about this all at the same time! I will be taking the place of a nurse who has been there for 25 years. She is absolutely fabulous. I went and worked with her for part of the day on Tuesday. She was really nice and supportive. She is going to be working from home as a reflexologist. She told me that she plans to come to the school on Registration days and on the first day of school to help me. Isn't that so nice? I feel like she will be a great resource for me. It will be hard to start working full time again (especially 5 days/week), but I am ready to have a regular schedule and one that works well with Wade's school schedule. It will be nice to have weekends, holidays, and summers off. I will continue working at the hospital PRN (1 day/month) as long as I can. I want to keep my skills up and be able to work a little during the summers for extra money.

The boys are doing great! I'm bracing myself for a fun-filled summer. We leave on Saturday for our camp session. It will be fun, but I'm always a little stressed before hand trying to get everything prepared. Wade will be a camper for the 2nd year. David is co-directing with my mom and Sharron Berry this year. He will also be a counselor. I will be the camp nurse once again.

Wade is cracking me up! He has been crying and complaining to me and his teacher at school that he doesn't want to have summer. He wants to go to summer school. He asked me one day "Mommy, can I please go to summer school?" I said "Summer school is for kids who fail. They have to make up the work they didn't do well on." Wade - "Well, they should have summer school for smart kids too." I'm going to have to find some kind of museum camp/school or something for him to do. He did NOT get that from me.

I know this has been a long post. Thanks for putting up with it. I will post some pictures of the boys and graduation soon.

Congratulations on graduating and on the new job! That is fantastic (even though it will definitely be an adjustment working full time, huh.) I really admire how hard you have worked for you and your family! Love you!

Congratulations!! I know first-hand how hard that program can be when you have so many more important obligations at home. You will make an awesome school nurse. I hope to do the same thing when my kids are all in school. I hope you guys have a great summer, and I look forward to future posts about your new job. Way to go!

Congradulations! I'm starting to prepare for camp myself. I told my parents that I love camp but packing and unpacking are a pain in the butt! Wade's so funny. I doubt this mind set will last many more years. Unlike Wade I am taking summer school so that I can graduate yearly and I'm not over joyed about it. But I know it'll pay off in the long run. Maybe Wade can do something similar to this when he gets older if he still wants to go to summer school. I can't wait to see y'all at camp! (P.S. I'm officially a senior in high school!)

Congrats on the school thing, but I have to say, I can't believe that Wade is already ready for school to start! In elementary school, it usually took me until about a month out before I got bored, and in high school, I was NEVER ready for school to start!
